Run Club in Corpus Christi, TX

The Body of Christ run club is a Sunday morning group run in Corpus Christi. No entry fee, no pace requirement, no membership needed. We coordinate it in a GroupMe - message us and we will add you.

How it works

It is deliberately simple. A group of us meet on Sunday mornings and run. Some weeks that is a handful of people, some weeks it is a crowd. Distance and route get sorted out in the GroupMe during the week, which is also where somebody posts when the weather is about to make the decision for us.

When: Sunday mornings.
Cost: Free. You do not have to be a member of the gym.
Pace: Whatever yours is. Nobody gets dropped and left.

Who shows up

People training for a race, people who just want the miles and the company, people who have not run since high school and want somebody to be accountable to on a Sunday morning. Runners who are fast and runners who walk the hills. If you have been meaning to start running and have not, a group is the single most effective trick there is - it is much harder to skip when somebody is expecting you.

Running is half of HYROX

If you have looked at HYROX, you already know: eight separate kilometers of running, one before every station. It is the part most people underestimate and the part that improves fastest with consistency. Sunday miles and Tuesday/Thursday HYROX classes go together well, and a lot of our members do exactly that.

The same is true in reverse. Runners who add strength and conditioning stop getting hurt as often and start getting faster. Our strength and conditioning classes run Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and your first 7 days are free if you want to test that theory.

GODSPEED 12 - our 12-hour endurance event

Saturday, December 12, 2026 · 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM · Hazel Bazemore Park

Twelve hours on a 1.5 mile loop. Run a 5K, chase 50 miles, or find out how far you can go between 7 in the morning and 7 at night. Same loop, same clock, everybody running their own race. Event details and registration.

GODSPEED is hosted by Body of Christ Faith & Fitness and it is open to anybody - runners, walkers, families, veterans, first responders, kids, whole teams. Sunday mornings are a good way to get ready for it, and a good way to find people to do it with.

Other ways to run with us

The free Saturday community workout at 9:30 AM is open to anyone, member or not, and usually has running in it somewhere. See the full schedule for everything else we run during the week.

Questions

Do I have to be a gym member?

No. The run club is free and open.

How far do you go?

It varies by week and by person. Plenty of people run their own distance and meet back at the same place.

I am slow. Will I hold everybody up?

No. Every run group in history has a range of paces in it, and ours is no different.
