Here's what some of our athletes have to say about our gym:

I'm an army wife, mother of four, co-owner of Courtesy Barber Studio, and someone who believes that faith, family, health, and service all work together. Like many people, I've experienced seasons of challenge, growth, and change. Fitness became more than just exercise for me. It became a way to care for the body God gave me, build resilience, manage stress, and continue becoming the best version of myself. From strength training to HYROX competitions, I've learned that growth doesn't come from perfection and always going hard on workouts. It comes from consistently showing up, giving yourself grace and time for rest. What brought you to Body of Christ Faith & Fitness? I was originally a member when the gym was Redline Fitness. When ownership changed and the gym transitioned into Body of Christ Faith & Fitness, many things evolved. The focus expanded from CrossFit into HYROX training while still maintaining aspects of both. As a small business owner myself, I understand the courage it takes to step out in faith, take a risk, and pursue a vision. Because of that, I chose to stay. I wanted to give the new owners the same opportunity and grace that I would hope people would give me. We all deserve a chance to grow, learn, and build something meaningful. How Has the Gym Impacted Your Life? Body of Christ has helped me become stronger physically, but it's also reinforced the importance of discipline, consistency, faith, and community. It has challenged me to step outside my comfort zone, set new goals, and believe I'm capable of more than I thought. The addition of HYROX training has opened doors for experiences I never imagined I'd have. From training alongside amazing people to competing with my husband and friends, it's given me opportunities to grow both as an athlete and as a person. It has also helped me through one of the more difficult seasons of my life. As my husband navigated the challenges that come with PTSD, I found myself struggling too. Supporting someone you love through those battles can be emotionally exhausting, and there were times when I felt overwhelmed and uncertain myself. This gym became more than a place to work out. It became a healthy outlet, a source of encouragement, and a community that helped me keep moving forward. Through fitness, my husband and I found something we could do together. It gave us goals to pursue side by side, strengthened our communication, and ultimately brought us closer. One of the greatest blessings to come from that journey was being able to train for and complete a HYROX race together. What started as workouts became quality time, shared challenges, and memories we'll carry with us for years to come. For that, I will always be grateful. What Makes This Gym Different? The people. This gym isn't just about workouts. It's about encouraging one another, celebrating victories, supporting each other through struggles, and building relationships that extend beyond the gym walls. There is something special about being surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you succeed. The faith-centered atmosphere reminds us that fitness isn't just about how we look. It's about stewardship, discipline, and honoring the gifts God has given us. Final Thoughts What started as a gym membership became a community. I stayed through a major transition because I believed in giving people a chance. What I found was a group of owners, coaches, and members who genuinely care about helping others grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. I've also had the privilege of witnessing the growth of some truly good-hearted coaches along the way. Watching them develop not only in their knowledge and abilities, but also in their confidence, leadership, and service to others. It has been incredibly inspiring. Growth doesn't happen overnight, and seeing their dedication to becoming better for the people they serve has been one of the most rewarding parts of being here. I've seen that same growth mindset in the owners as well. Building a business isn't easy, and I've admired their willingness to learn, adapt, and remain open to new ideas from both members and coaches. Rather than assuming they have all the answers, they've shown humility by listening, making adjustments, and continually striving to improve the gym and the experience for everyone. As a fellow small business owner, I have a deep respect for that. Fitness brought me through the doors. The people, the faith, the community, and the opportunity to watch others grow alongside me are what made me stay. I am thankful for the friendships, the encouragement, the lessons, and the reminder that when people come together with faith, humility, and a willingness to grow, amazing things can happen.

“Six years ago, I was neglecting my health, my fitness, and honestly, parts of who God was calling me to be. Long shifts, excuses, and life’s demands made it easy to put myself last. Then I found Body of Christ. Over the last 10 months, I’ve lost more than 65 pounds, gone from not running at all to routinely running multiple miles, competing in HYROX events, and training almost every day. But the physical transformation isn’t the biggest change. Body of Christ has shown me what can happen when you consistently show up, give your best effort, surround yourself with people who genuinely care about you, and put God at the center of it all. The mission statement, “God First. Train Hard. Transform Everything.” isn’t just something written on a wall—it’s something I’ve experienced firsthand. This community has challenged me, encouraged me, prayed for me, celebrated with me, and helped me become a stronger man physically, mentally, and spiritually. To my Body of Christ family, thank you for inspiring me to put God first and pursue the person He created me to be. My name is Anthony Yturria, and because of God’s grace and this community, I’ve learned that I can do hard things.”

Becoming a mom, you tend to put yourself last. Your wants and needs are not important anymore, so I thought. I let the guilt win every time it came to getting some ME time. I kept telling myself I will start next week, and that week became several then years went by using the same excuse. Until one day at a family gathering a close family member and I were discussing where we were at in life and we got into talking about how she feels when working out. I was at a point In my life where stress eating was my way to cope with everything I had been through and still going through. Told her How I enjoyed running every chance I could because running was my way to escape the emotions I was dealing with. She told me you should attend my gym, just go and see for yourself. You won’t regret it. That night I was debating back and forth whether or not I should go. But at that time, I was just thinking to myself nothing is ever going to change if I keep letting my fear win. I would tell myself I don’t want my kids to let fear keep them from Trying new things I don’t want them to be like me. That same week I reached out and went to my first gym session. So many emotions and what-ifs were going through my mind. But what was crazy was when I walked in - all those what ifs went away. I felt like I was meant to be there. All the nerves just went away, and I have been going back ever since. This isn’t a typical gym where you feel people judging or staring- it feels like home. Family who supports you and motivates you to want to become a better person. Where you’re not being judged. This is where I want to be. It’s like this was meant to help me come out of that dark place I was in mentally. Since then - going to the gym has helped me become a better mom to my kids. Because I’m not in that negative environment, no negative mindset. I take my kids and I love the fact that my daughter enjoys the workouts just as much as me. I have met some incredible people along the way. I will forever be thankful and grateful for meeting my gym friends.

Who are you? I’m Jenn, an athlete who loves getting stronger, challenging myself, and doing things I once thought I couldn’t do. But more importantly, I’m a woman who is learning every day to see myself the way God sees me. Who do you help? I love encouraging people who are new to the gym or who may not feel confident in their abilities yet. I want people to know that they don’t have to be the strongest, fastest, or fittest person in the room to belong here. Even though I’ve been doing this type of training for a long time, I still modify workouts and make movements fit my abilities. I think that’s an important reminder that scaling or modifying isn’t failing, it’s being smart, listening to your body, and continuing to show up that is what matters the most. What results are you trying to deliver? I want to help people become stronger not just physically, but mentally and spiritually. I want athletes to leave feeling more confident, encouraged, and reminded that they are capable of more than they may think. For me, BOC has helped me grow in confidence because I’m learning that I am no longer defined by who I thought I was or what I can physically accomplish. I am who God says I am. That has changed the way I approach training and the way I see myself. Why should athletes choose this gym? BOC is more than a place to work out. It’s a community where you can be challenged, encouraged, and reminded that your identity is bigger than your performance. You can come exactly as you are, modify when you need to, push yourself when you can, and know that you have people around you who want to see you grow. I love that BOC is a faith-based gym & we get to pursue becoming stronger athletes while also growing closer to God. What called you to serve? I think God calls us all to serve in some way & He shows me that by simply putting people in my path who need encouragement. I know what it feels like to walk into a gym and wonder if you’re strong enough, fit enough, or capable enough. I want to be the person who reminds someone, “You can do this. Keep going.” Why do you serve? (When given the opportunity) I serve because I know how much encouragement can change someone’s experience. If I can help a new athlete or anyone feel like they belong, remind someone that modifying a workout is okay, or encourage someone to keep showing up when they’re struggling, then I feel like I’m serving a bigger purpose. Ultimately, I want my life and my time at BOC to point back to God. I want to encourage people not just to become stronger physically, but to know their worth, walk in confidence, and understand that their identity comes from Him.

My name is Caleb Gloor and I am an athlete training at BoC. I am grateful to say that I have been part of the gym since February of this year. Since joining, I have grown to really love the gym from the coaches to my fellow athletes. God has used the daily messages and prayers on multiple occasions to speak into my situation and has used this gym as a means to help me in my walk with Him. This place could not be what it is without the focus on Christ or without the people here who really care about each other. When I began to have problems with my knees and shoulder, the coaches helped me to scale down exercises to safely continue working out and encouraged me to keep moving forward. The athletes are always motivating each other from just a quick fist bump to cheering for you when you push your limits. It is an overwhelmingly positive environment that anyone can benefit from. Overall, this gym and everyone who is part of it have truly been a blessing to me.

Becoming a mom, I started putting myself last. I felt guilty taking time for myself, and “I’ll start next week” eventually turned into years. Stress eating became a way to cope, while running became my escape.

A family member encouraged me to try her gym. I was nervous, but I realized nothing would change if I kept letting fear win. So, I finally took that first step.

From the moment I walked in, I felt like I belonged. This isn’t just a gym—it feels like family. There’s no judgment, just people who support, encourage, and push you to become better.

This gym helped me get out of a dark place mentally and become a better mom. Now I get to bring my kids with me, and seeing my daughter enjoy the workouts make it even more special. I’m forever grateful for the people I’ve met and the family I’ve found here.
